The labyrinth is a symbol for transformation; for coming into the center of oneself, and emerging again, changed. The labyrinth of birth is the inwards journey of pregnancy: one walks towards the center of herself on a path that may feel impossibly long. At the center (birth) a woman might meet some of the deepest parts of herself. Once again, the woman must walk the labyrinth back outwards to join the world anew. All too often, women have impeccable support on the inwards and birth journey, but are left to navigate the postpartum with little support.
I am here to hold your hand and walk by your side as you navigate the journey out of the labyrinth.
This is the postpartum journey; a time of deep healing and rest. This is a time to ask for help: a time for loved ones to come rub your feet, for emotions to flow without restraint, and for food that nourishes the body and the heart. This is a time for transformation to be integrated so that when the time comes to step out of your nest you feel whole, rested, and confident in your new family dynamic.
Meet Lila
I believe that nature’s design is perfect. With this truth come the truths that women’s bodies are designed to birth, and that they are also designed to heal.
I believe that a fully integrated birth experience is every woman’s birthright. Supporting physiological birth and holistic postpartum has the capacity to heal our world by rippling across the generations to come.
I believe in a mother-centered postpartum; a nourished and resourced mother is a nourished and resourced infant and home.
I trust in you and your capacity to birth and to heal. My role as a doula is simply to provide you with the tools, support systmes, and love to aid in this healing and birth integration.
